SCRUFFY Scruffy is a purebred female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Her DOB is 6/17/06. Scruffy is a owner turn-in and her story is a familiar one - a Wheaten not getting along with other same sex dogs. Below is some info from them: Scruffy is a smaller size Wheaten about 30 lbs and 18 in. We also have another Wheaten same description as her. Scruffy has very strong animal instincts. She watches out the windows for mostly rabbits. She hunts around our house for them and she has eaten a couple of baby rabbits. She also loves mice. It's the vermin hunter in her. We love Scruffy with all our hearts but she has attacked our other Wheaten on many occasion. It seems to be escalating. Our other dog has been severely cut and so have we trying to break it up. She also attacked our very old Lab (unprovoked) and a neighbors Golden Retriever when it came in our yard. I feel she thinks she is in charge. I have worked and worked and read and watched to try to fix this. No matter how much we love her our whole family has come to the conclusion (with many tears) that our two dogs cannot be near each other and we need to find Scruffy a new home. Our dog's walk well together and Scruffy runs along my bike on a leash. I know it must sound like she is awful but until these attacks happen she is perfect. But she does jump (the Wheaten greetin')? We love her so much and it truly breaks our hearts that we have to do this. Scruffy will need a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back male dog. She will need a home with NO CATS. Scruffy is spayed and up to date on shots. OCTOBER 2009 - A FOREVER HOME! Scruffy has been adopted by the Godfrey Family of New Jersey CONGRATULATIONS! |
