SAVANNAH

Savannah is an approx. 2 year old
female Wheatable

Savannah was another stray that
was in a animal shelter and we
found out about her literally in the
nick of time. We were able to get
her into a foster home with the
help of another rescuer on her
last day.

Savannah's foster mom says she
is very thin and will need to gain
about 5 lbs. to be at a healthy
weight. She has obviously had
puppies and never been fed
properly. Her nails were so long
that she was unable to walk
properly. She is described as
playful and adorable and is getting
along well with the other dogs in
the home.

Savannah will be available for
adoption after she has gotten her
shots and been spayed - most
likely around the end of May..

She is located in Youngsville,
Louisiana

May 4, 2006 - UPDATE

Unfortunately we learned today
that Savannah is heartworm
positive. She will be treated prior
to being spayed and will be
unavailable for adoption for at
least 2 months. If you would like to
be an Angel for Savannah you can
do so by clicking the logo at the
top of the page. We will update
after she has been treated. You
can feel free to put in an
application if you are interested in
her but we will not screen any
applications until she has
successfully completed her
treatment.

June 2 Update

Savannah had her heartworm
treatment on May 11 and is quietly
recuperating and doing very well.
As you can see in the new pics,
she is not lacking for being
spoiled.

From her foster mom: "Savannah
is doing so well. She is a big
cuddle bunny. I took her to the vet
yesterday to have her weighed
and she has gained 2 pounds. She
has the cutest bark kinda like a
woo woo woo"

Barring any complications,
Savannah should be ready to go
on to her forever home by the end
of July.
