| SAMSON Samson is a purebred male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. His est. DOB is 9/09 Samson was pulled out of an animal shelter. The info we were given was that Samson and 3 chow dogs all lived with an elderly lady in the backwoods of Virginia. She had some medical issues and for years, the 4 dogs were tethered in her yard. Neighbors would check on the dogs and feed and water them as needed. One neighbor's son took a keen interest in all 4 dogs and their basic care became a pet project of his. He called animal control several times in hopes of getting the dogs out, but the dogs were left there. He would go and make it a point to feed and water them & try to play with them a little. Finally, the elderly owner was taken to a nursing home out of state. For up to 6 months, the dogs were still just fed and watered by neighbors. Finally, the dogs were removed from the home and taken to the shelter. All 3 of the chows were euthanized, as some were elderly and ill and in pretty bad shape. Because Samson is young and apparently healthy, interest was taken to find a rescue that would accept him. The original pictures we got from the shelter. As you can see they were in the process of shaving him when they were taken. The new pictures are after we took him to see the groomer - what an amazing transformation! Samson is neutered and up to date on shots. |
