ROCKY Rocky is a male Wheatable. His est. DOB is 12/10. Rocky's fur is silky soft and shiny and he has little short legs and a stubby tail and weighs in at a whopping 18 lbs. Rocky was picked up as a stray by animal control in Amarillo Texas, and since his owners never came forward, he was put on their euthanasia list due to space issues. Because of his sweet personality and all around cuteness, his euthanasia date was withheld three times. We were notified about him on Nov 27 and were told his FINAL euthanasia date was Nov 30, no more holds. We were able to find a foster home for him in Austin, Texas, but couldn't come forward until Dec 1st. After some pleading, a shelter volunteer agreed to hold Rocky in a special pen, and came in on a Sat morning when the shelter was closed in order to pass Rocky along to one of their other volunteers, Lissa. Lissa gave up her Saturday to pick up Rocky and transport him about 5 hours to meet up with the foster mom who also had to drive for hours, but has graciously welcomed Rocky into her home and is already more than a little smitten with him. His foster mom says he is very loving and a fun guy to hang out with. He rides well in a car and crate, and gets along very well with other dogs, kids, and even is fine with the foster mom's cat. Rocky is neutered and up to date on shots. He is located in Austin, TX |
