RILEY

Riley is a purebred male Soft Coated
Wheaten Terrier. His DOB is 5/5/01

Riley is a owner turn-in - information
from them:

I am moving overseas and I cannot take
Riley.  He is 7 years old, a bit on the curly
side, and he is neutered. He is a great
dog.  He has a fear of men in hats due to
a “puppy” incident he has never
forgotten.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM:

Our boy looks like a completely different
dog and in some ways is even acting like
a different dog.   Riley is still very timid
but improving by the day.  It's like you
have to establish trust each day or after
each extended absence but the time it
takes to establish that trust again has
decreased dramatically.  The last couple
of days, he's greeted me at the door.
The tail has even started to pop up and
wag and he's starting to dish out some
puppy kisses.  Sue brought Megan over
last night.  They got along very well.
Riley even realized that Uncle Rick was
giving Megan attention and horned in for
his share.  He's really trying hard to be a
dog.  I stopped by Sue's today on the way
back from the groomer.  Riley did well
with Megan and did especially well with
Mini Me.  Mini Me, aka Sofie, is a 3 month
old Maltese, Poodle mix that Sue was
puppy sitting.  He loved the puppy and
readily shared the water bowl.  There
were absolutely no signs of aggression
when treats were offered.  He did very
well with the other dogs.  He would do
well in a quiet home and is going to take
a patient owner but I believe that
patience will be well rewarded.  He is a
precious little guy.  His previous owner
reported issues with men, especially
men wearing hats.  Riley's preference
does seem to be women, or 13 year old
grandsons with squeaky puberty type
voices, but he's doing well with Rick.  It's
just taken a little longer.  He would
probably be overwhelmed in a very
active household.  He rides nicely in a
car and sleeps quietly in his crate at
night.  We've had no housetraining
issues at all.  He's going to be a
wonderful companion for some lucky
person.

He is neutered and up to date on shots
