NELLIE Nellie is a purebred female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Her est. DOB is 7/06 Nellie was a breeding dog in a puppymill. She was released into rescue along with Ma, Pa, Laura, Mary, Carrie, Eliza and Eddie. We were contacted by a gentleman who rescued them from that situation and wanted us to take them in and find them good homes. Info on Nellie: Nellie is such a sweetheart! She is a quiet girl but there is something in those eyes of hers that just make you want to pick her up and hug her. She had a hard time in the puppymill judging on the condition of her coat and ears when she came in but she has come a long way and is looking much better now. She would do very well in a quiet household where she can get the love and attention she craves. She gets along well with the male dogs also in Rescue. It appears that Nellie has had some allergy issues while in the mill looking at the condition of her coat. The mills feed substandard grain based feed which is the opposite of what a Wheaten needs. As you can see in the new pictures, her coat is growing in and she is looking much better after eating good food for a few weeks. The wound hair will all grow out in time and her coat will be pretty again. Nellie has been spayed and is up to date on shots. She has had dental work done. |
