LUKE Luke is a male Wheatable. His estimated DOB 2/06 Luke was pulled from an animal shelter to save him from euthanasia. Some info from his saviour and foster dad: When I called the Shelter about Luke, it was one (1) HOUR before he was to be "put down". I convinced the Officer that I was serious about coming down to get him and finally they agreed to let me take him. Luke has blossomed into one great Wheaten. I had him groomed and the groomers just loved him! He was good in the wash room ( I washed him) then the attendant finished drying him, before the groomer gave him a hair cut. Everyone said he was great for them. I have taken him on 2 overnighters and he was good on both trips. I took him to the Troop meeting and he was fine with the boys...even went around the circle (the boys were sitting down for this) seeking attention. He is friendly with all people we meet with a tendency to lean on them asking for attention. He hasn't shown any aggression toward other dogs we see or meet. The other day on our walk a cat walked across his path and no reaction. He has gotten use to our back yard and enjoys being out exploring. He will go off for a few minuets then come back to check in and then off again. He has a great ball retrieve and enjoys interacting with me. I have noticed some food guarding and he showed his teeth (once) to me when I asked him to "wait" after I put the bowl on the floor. I'm watching this action. He would be better with a older kid family. Luke is neutered and up to date on shots. |
