Wheaten Terrier. His DOB is 7/24/04 breeder. As those places go he was in better living conditions than many we have seen. He and the two females that came with him, Paris and Vegas, had a good sized outdoor area to run and exercise. They all seem to be pretty healthy. All three dogs appear to have never been groomed in their 4 years of life. They all had coats down to the ground that were literally in dreadlocks. There were feces and bugs, hay and all kinds of other debris matted into their coats. All three dogs had their ears and tails matted down to their bodies. Unfortunately we had to shave off their falls and beards as well as they coat as they were just too matted to be able to save anything. They have all now been shaved down and bathed and have each lost several pounds just in fur. In Berlin's case, as you can see in the pictures, his entire coat came off in nearly one piece. Fortunately it is just fur and it will grow back. We will update pictures as they grow out. All three dogs are on the small side but are all friendly, tails wagging and giving kisses. Berlin is a little more outgoing and friendly than the girls but they will come around in time. UPDATE Berlin has been to the vet and has been neutered. All three dogs were tested for heartworms as they were living outdoors prior to coming into Rescue and all were found to be negative. Berlin is ready to move on to a forever home and a great new life at any time. Berlin is neutered and up to date on shots. NOVEMBER 2008 - A FOREVER HOME Berlin has been adopted by the Rodriguez Family of Florida CONGRATULATIONS! |
