| Joker Joker is a purebred male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. His estimated DOB is 4/04 He is part of a group of eleven dogs who were released from a commercial breeder. You can read more about dogs that come from situations like this by clicking HERE. He is described as "Fine with people, good with females. Calm and sweet by nature." Joker is very friendly and outgoing, likes to be petted and gives lots of kisses. Joker needs a home with NO CATS Update 1 Joker has had x-rays and he has a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left year leg. The vet feels this is an old injury that he has lived in pain with for quite awhile. He has developed arthritis in the knee as well due to the injury. As soon as he has healed from the neuter surgery, he will go in to have the ligament repaired. We don't know how successful it will be due to it being an old injury but it can't be made worse than it is so we are going to do all we can to repair it. This surgery usually runs around $3000. Our great vet is doing it at a reduced cost as we are going to allow and newer surgeon to do it to gain experience. Update 2 Joker came home from having his surgery today. The vet said is went very well and a full recovery is expected. Joker will require daily physical therapy over the next two month in order to get the joint to heal with full range of motion. He will also be put on a daily regimen of FlexGel to help his mobility and to help him heal faster. Funny story - Joker proved that he is named correctly during his over night stay at the vet. Around 11:30 pm the motion detector alarms at the animal clinic went off which summoned the police and one of the vets. When they went into the clinic they found Joker had escaped from his run and was merrily running around tripping the sensors. It took the vet AND the police to catch him and put him back in his kennel. Good one Joker! UPDATE 3 Joker has now recovered from his surgery and is doing great. He is using the leg more and more every day and we consider his surgery to be a success. He is very sweet and is ready to go on to his forever home anytime. Joker is neutered and up to date on shots.
